The title will make more since in a little bit – keep reading 🙂
This was a monumental shoot for many reasons. I reached a new level shooting UW and there will be many to thank. For starters the Cowgill’s generosity for letting me use their pool was foundational. Second would be the efforts of my friend and floral designer Lauren Roebuck. Lauren prepared for us 6 perfect and vibrant bouquets. Third but not least would be my 2 clients: Anna and Morgan. What you do not see in the images is the temperature of the water! It was so cold that when we would routinely come up for air none of us could talk b/c our teeth were chattering so badly. Amazingly you can not see any goosebumps but trust me they were. In fact it was so cold . . . (I know… How cold was it?) that my assistant for the day Nicole (thank you Nicole) bailed on us after being in the water for only an hour.
As for the title, well we realized pretty quickly (during Morgan’s shoot) that undergarments in some cases do show through some dresses. In Morgan’s case screaming pink panties (so ladies if you shoot UW bridals, nude colors work best). As for the turtle and squirrel, they were not real, but they played a big part. They were removed from Mrs. Cowgill’s landscaping attire for purposes of weights 🙂 They were well taken care of during the shoot.

ANNA’S IMAGES
WOW! I love that last one a lot with the light streaming into the water!!
Amazing!!! These brides were floating beauties. They portray softness and flowing illumination. Great job and great imagination.
I noticed when you put them on FB that the quality had increased drastically. These are some amazing shots.
To solve the cold issue for your assistant(s); may I suggest that they get a 3mm to 5mm wetsuit, either full or shorty (does not go the full length of the arms or legs). They can run less than 100.00 and are well worth it for pool shoots. These work wonders even in the warm waters of Hawaii.
Otherwise, simply brilliant!
After looking at your other blogs, guess you all got the wetsuits down….well, there is always 7mm….oh, I love the dramatic unhoused camera shots…nice touch.
